On the evening of May 8th, 2014 we were fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to volunteer our time to help the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada (ARC) throw a very successful event to raise money for Arthritis Research and help people with arthritis transform their lives through engagement and research. The evening featured art from several artists, a live auction, silent auction and a raffle with a delightful butterfly diamond pendant necklace by Birks, featuring 118 diamonds totalling 1.3 carats with an estimated value of $5,000.
The evening was emceed by Fred Lee, a well known contributor to the CBC, The Province and Vancouver Courier, he also happens to be somewhat excitable and a lot of fun; as well as Sophie Lui, the beautiful and stunning, very well known, face of Global BC Morning News. Together this duo provided a group of about 200 people with some excellent entertainment and a great environment to raise awareness and money to help those affected by arthritis. Their efforts and those of the many many people it took to pull of the event we were able to successfully raise $236,000.
While we were unable to collect a plethora of exciting shots due to our helping out however we could, from greeting and registering guests to collecting donations and selling raffle tickets, we were able to snap a few photos of the venue, The Vancouver Club and the events decor which we think were appropriate for Casual Opulence.
