There’s a lot to be said about the Hyatt Ziva Cancun, but the best thing to do is experience it for yourself. It’s easily one of the best resorts in Cancun and its views and beaches can’t be beat.

Have you ever watched an episode of Star Trek where someone visits Risa for a vacation? The vacation planet of Risa is an idyllic paradise with weather control systems to ensure it never rains, clouds never get in the way and the breeze is just the right amount of cool. While the Hyatt Ziva may not be the planet Risa, it’s certainly a very close approximation.

Perched at the head of the Zona Hotelera in Cancun, Mexico. Just 20/30 minutes away from the airport, the Hyatt Ziva looks at water on three sides with beaches on two and a breakwall on the other that generates ear-pleasing ocean sounds for your personal relaxation. The design of the property is such that you can naturally find your way around easily, while still feeling like there’s something to explore days after you arrive.

The resort is airy and alive with chatter of other guests and the décor is refined and simple. Wooden furniture with carefully selected materials adorn every room and have been positioned for conversation and relaxation. It’s easy to stop by the candy shop and grab an ice cream and some nibbles or an espresso or a latte from the cafe and find a cozy place to relax – either on the  beach, poolside or somewhere in the shade around the property on a cozy chair or couch.

A highlight of the Hyatt Ziva Cancun is the Sports and Entertainment team; Andres, Mayra, Andrea, Ram, Hector and Pablo. They do a fantastic job of planning and executing daily activities from water and beach volleyball to evening entertainment from local dancers, often followed by parties on the upper patio, PuntaVista. The entire time does a great job of bringing people together and having fun with activities throughout the day – they’re always energetic and outgoing!

Several pools provide a place for easy swimming that for most people will come up to their shoulders or neck. Two beaches, one public (but mostly accessed by the hotel and nearby hotels) and one private for the Hyatt Ziva Cancun provide great places for swimming in the beautiful Caribbean sea.

Weather & When to Go

It’s generally about 30 degrees C all year in Cancun so you’re good any time of the year. May, September, October and November are their slow seasons which may give you an advantage of being less busy and flights costing less.

Turquoise – An Adult Only Experience

The whole of the resort is kid friendly with the exception of the Turquoise tower which includes its own check-in and if you stay 4 nights or more includes airport transportation. All the rooms face the ocean and give you a sunrise view. If you’re going without children this is really a great choice since it gives you a few extras like the private check-in/out as, view and huge rooms with king or two double beds.
