[dropcap size=medium]A[/dropcap] SUITE OF DESIGN UPGRADES AND FEATURES FOR THE CONTINENTAL GT FAMILY
With a slated unveiling at the 2015 Geneva motor show and deliveries starting this summer we have a lot to get excited about with this refreshed Bentley Continental GT Speed including three new paint colours – we can’t wait to see these in the driveway! The minor changes in the body and the interior are enough to make a huge difference in the way the car looks and feels for both a spectator and a driver.
Bentley offers uncompromised luxury and performance with ultimate comfort for grand touring and our new 2015 features extend the appeal of our family. We listen carefully to our customers, and with these new evolutions we’re making our cars even more stylish, efficient, connected and useable every day.– Wolfgang Dürheimer, chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors
New front bumpers and smaller radiators along with new more pronounced fenders lend a more aggressive and assertive stance to the front of the car. Fenders feature a decorate vent in the shape of a “B” which further highlight eh power line that flows towards the rear of the car.
A more sculpted and aerodynamic boot lid sits at the rear of the car, which looks smooth and refined. New wheels complete the exterior refinements as well as three new paint colours – Marlin (metallic blue), Camel (soft golden tone), and Jetstream (light bright metallic blue).
A contemporary straight-fluting pattern adorns the four seats of the Continental GT, while a tightened small-diamond pattern, which reflects a tailored British jacket is adopted on the Mulliner Driving Specification models, which is standard on the GT versions.
More ergonomic and sport-oriented steering wheel and larger shift paddles are added to improve the feel of holding the machine in ones hands. New and improved console and interior lighting from LEDs illuminates the dash with refreshed dials and graphics for a more contemporary look.
To top off the new cabin refinements there are now softer-semi-aniline hides for seat cushions and backrests as well as colour matched Alcantara headlinings.
Performance and Efficiency
Beneath the subtle materials and luxurious cabin sits the 6.0L W12 engine Bentley Motors is known for, now with a marginal power and torque output (from 575 ps to 590 ps & from 516 lb.ft to 531 lb.ft) this power increase is achieved with a 5% fuel economy improvement – of course your results may vary.
We have always loved the Bentley Continental, and this version is no difference, it’s classical style exude refinement without being lout of obnoxious like other super-cars. It’s always satisfying to see a gorgeous Bentley on the road and even more satisfying to ride in one or drive it.
