Nestled on campus grounds at the University of British Columbia, the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts boasts magnificent architecture and world-renowned acoustics. After a successful 2013-2014 season, the Chan is excited to announce the upcoming 2014-2015 season. Their launch party was held on Saturday, May 10th and the Chan excitedly welcomed both old and new faces.

The patrons were greeted with a glass of bubbly and food by local Vancouver caterers, EdgeCeptional. The afternoon featured three time Juno Award winner and local artist Alpha Yayo Diallo with Boujou Cissoko. Dr. Gage Averill, UBC Dean of the Faculty of Arts was also in attendance.

Co-Managing Directors of the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, Joyce Hinton and Cameron McGill are pleased to announce that the upcoming season will feature some veteran Chan performers such as Chris Thile and Edgar Meyer, Zakir Hussain and Lila Downs. Other performers on the Chan repertoire this upcoming season are Diego El Cigala the Gitano singer, The Gloaming an Irish group, Grammy Award winning artist Terri Lyne, along with jazz songstress Cécile McLorin Salvant, Jazz Masters Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock, the Brazilian Grammy Award winner Gilberto Gil and Chinese pipa and ruan artist Wu Man with the Shanghai Quartet.

In addition to the Chan Centre presents series, the theatre will continue to feature performances by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Vancouver Recital Society throughout the year. More information and how to purchase your season tickets are available on the Chan Centre website here.
